Dear Friends
India and Japan are celebrating the 62th year of friendly and diplomatic relations between the nations . however the ties between these two ancient civilisations that are rich in tradition go much farther back.
The first Indian visitor of japan was Bodhirena , a buddhist priest who travelled to Nara city , the capital of japan at that time , for consecration of The Great Buddha Statue in Todagji Temple in the year 752.Buddhism spread in japan and is one of the largest religion followed by the people of japan .Even before that Hinduism travelled to japan via korea and was accepted as Shintoism , the chief religion of japan and japanese throne.
Japan has made many remarkable strides in technology , art , economic prosperiety and global peace initiatives in the late 20th century .it would be very interesting to learn about it through the words and actions of some of the ldading sons of India and their association with Japan.
